SYMPHONIC BAND
What is Symphonic Band?
The Symphonic Band is the top performing ensemble at BMS and is under the direction of Mrs. Capehart, assisted by Mrs. Speer. Placement for this band is open to 7th/8th Grade students but selection is based off of auditions in May. In this class, these students work on intermediate/advanced performance skills and advanced ensemble skills. These students have many opportunities to perform as an ensemble, including the BMS Pep Rally in the Fall and Spring, the MMM Band "Mass Band" Night in November, the BMS Bands Christmas Concert in December, UIL Concert and Sight-Reading Contest in March and a Concert in the Spring semester.
Students also have the opportunity to perform individually in the All-Region Tryouts in November and Solo/Ensemble in the Spring semester.
Supplies Needed for Symphonic Band
Instrument - highly encouraged to rent/purchase, but the BMS Bands Program does have a small selection for checkout
